Training Providers Mine Awareness International

Mine Awareness International

Mine Awareness International is a training organization which provides Landmine, Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) and Improvised Explosive Device awareness training to Aid Agencies, Non-Government Organizations and individuals who will be operating in countries or regions which have been ravaged by conflict and are contaminated by landmines and other Explosive Remnants of War.

Our aim is to provide at-cost training courses to Aid Agencies, Humanitarian Organizations and NGOs. We run courses for Commercial Companies which subsidizes the running of these courses for NGOs, and the cost of the course simply recovers the costs of the training venue, training materials and the instructors wage, accommodation and travel expenses.

Our training is designed to offer both theoretical and practical components to teach both the theory and skills required to operate in such environments. We offer our standard one and two day courses on a regular basis in locations such as the United Kingdom, Middle East and the United States.

We run standard courses which run one or two days (the two day course is recommended) and covers topics such as:
  • Landmine, UXO and IED identification
  • Effects and safety distances
  • Route planning and avoidance
  • Booby traps
  • Vehicle IED search techniques
  • Mine and UXO incident drills
Our instructors are all experienced professionals, ranging from former Australian and UK Special Air Service personnel, through to experienced and currently qualified Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians.

The training sessions are highly portable and can be conducted virtually anywhere across the globe. We can come direct to your offices or operations facility to conduct training, or alternatively staff may attend one of our regularly scheduled courses.
