Technical University of Darmstadt

Any attempt at finding an ´ivory tower` at the TU Darmstadt will be in vain, because the focus of teaching and research at this university has always been on subjects of the real world, be it in the natural sciences, engineering disciplines or social sciences and the humanities. The Technical University of Darmstadt is one of the leading technical universities in Germany and has offered specialized courses in planning and building overseas since 1971. Students are encouraged to learn how to put scientific ideas and principles into effect and to demonstrate in their essays and dissertations how to tackle, analyze and solve problems. Experience thus gained is doubtless a great asset for them when it comes to getting access to the labor market once they have graduated from the TU Darmstadt.

The modern campus is well equipped with all essential scientific infrastructure. More than 14% of the university s 17,500 students are international - considerably more than in other German universities, which makes the campus very diverse in addition to serving every possible need of a developing young professional. Darmstadt is only 30 minutes away from Frankfurt international airport and important agencies for international cooperation such as German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the KfW Development Bank (KfW Entwicklungsbank). It is located at the rim of the beautiful Rhine valley - which happens to be the sunniest region in all of Germany!
