University of Reading Business School

Research

The Business School has a long-held international reputation, and it maintains a vibrant research culture. We are among the very best of UK's business schools, one of only 8 to achieve the top 5 rating in both the 2001 and 1996 RAEs. Research both pure and applied, is based around nine interdisciplinary centres and is driven by world-class academics who are key opinion leaders in their field.

Teaching and Learning

The School has more than 70 academic staff, of whom 17 are internationally-renowned professors. Our high score in the 2004 Quality Assurance Assessment (QAA) shows our committment to providing the best quality teaching and learning experience for students. We have high calibre students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. To further this aim, we have announced two scholarships for students wishing to read for a Taught Masters degree programme in either Economics or Management. This is in addition to existing scholarships for PhD students.

Business

We have an ambitious business development team that has forged robust links with public and private sector. We provide bespoke consultancy services through the Reading Business Group. An example is our new IT and Business degree developed in consultation with major locally-based IT companies incorporating a year's compulsory placement in one of these firms. We also run successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership programmes designed to help companies access our expertise and bring it into business by working in partnership with academics and researchers. We also run a variety of enterprise events in conjunction with Reading Enterprise Hub.
